A dedicated family nurse practitioner, certified nurse educator, and nationally recognized advocate for the advancement of nursing. With a distinguished career in education, Joy recently retired from Otterbein University, where she served as faculty and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner program. Throughout her tenure, she mentored and educated countless nurse practitioner students, equipping them with a strong foundation in healthcare policy, clinical practice, and leadership.
In 2025, Joy was honored with the OAAPN Advocate of the Year Award, recognizing her unwavering commitment to promoting and advancing the role of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Her work spans education, research, mentorship, and advocacy—consistently strengthening the visibility and impact of APRNs across Ohio.
Beyond academia, Joy remains deeply committed to service. She volunteers at Grace Clinic, where she continues to advocate for accessible, high-quality care while highlighting the essential role of nurse practitioners in patient outcomes. Her faith-driven approach and participation in mission work reflect her passion for serving others with compassion and purpose.
Joy brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, heartfelt mentorship, and engaging teaching to every endeavor. She is now leading the development and launch of Aspire Wellness Integrative Health’s first online course for patients—an initiative designed to empower individuals with practical, meaningful education to support their health journeys.
